FASTag by State Bank of India

SBI FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash transactions.

You can purchase the Tag from Tag issuers and if it is linked to the prepaid account, then you need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement. Tag provides you with the convenience and ease during transit through the toll plaza along with saving time, fuel and money. SBI FASTag is presently operational at 346+ toll plazas across National Highways.

The system is inter-operable and the same SBI FASTag can be used across all toll plazas under the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program. More toll plazas will be brought under the NETC program in the future. Please visit the website www.ihmcl.com for more details.

Charges & Validity of FASTag

Issuance fees of the Tag:– Rs. 100/- across all categories, including all applicable taxes Other Charges: – A minimum security amount depending on the vehicle category (refundable at the time of cancellation of RFID Tag) and Minimum Balance would be charged to the customer as per the Table given below:

  • Applicable taxes will be levied on all type of top ups and transactions.
  • A minimum convenience fee will be levied for all kind of transactions.
  • Minimum Balance is the minimum recharge amount to be done at the time of RFID tag activation.
  • Security amount would be applicable as per the vehicle class and will be refunded to the customer at the time of closure of RFID Tag account.
  • The tag comes with a guarantee of 3 years.

How to Apply for State Bank of India FASTag

According to the official SBI FASTag website, you may open your SBI FASTag account at any of the bank’s Point Of Sale (POS) counters located at toll plazas. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: Bring your KYC and car paperwork, as well as the originals, to any of the POS locations. While receiving your FASTag, you must have your car with you. The following is a list of SBI POS/Agent Locations where you may apply for a FASTag. You may also phone their customer service line at 1800 11 0018, and they will send you to the nearest POS station.

Step 2: Complete the application for an SBI FASTag account and submit it with the required documentation. The POS employee will apply FASTag to your windscreen.

Step 3: You’ll receive an SMS with your SBI FASTag login and password. To manage your account, go to the official SBI FASTag website and log in with these information.

An SBI FASTag can be obtained at specific toll plazas or neighbouring regions’ point of sale (POS) counters. You may also receive the FASTag by going to any SBI branch. All one needs is documentation with themselves, including your KYC documents and vehicle paperwork. You must also take your car to the POS to obtain a FASTag. A representative will assist you in installing the SBI FASTag on your vehicle. You may refill the FASTag account by going to the POS and paying cash.

Documents required for State Bank of India FASTag

The SBI FASTag is linked to a prepaid or a savings account, hence, Know Your Customer (KYC) documents are required while applying for the FASTag through the bank. Along with the KYC documents, you are required to submit your vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) and the application form. You can open the SBI FASTag account through the following two categories:

What is the procedure for recharging the State Bank of India FASTag?

To recharge your SBI FASTag prepaid account, follow the steps below:

  • Visit the official SBI FASTag website.
  • Log in with your username and password to access your account.
  • On the new page, select the ‘Tag Recharge’ option at the top of the page.
  • On the redirected page, enter the amount for recharge and click on ‘Pay Now’. Choose the payment method and a pop-up window will appear with the breakup of the charges, click on ‘Pay Now’ after checking all the details.
  • Once the recharge is completed, an SMS notification will be sent to your registered mobile number with the details of the recharge.
